An Unconstitutional Impeachment “DEAD ON ARRIVAL”

1 min read

Senate Republicans have voted overwhelmingly against moving forward with Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial. 45 GOP senators vote against the Trump impeachment trial calling it unconstitutional.

In a fiery speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, Paul said Democrats’ calls for unity were hollow and that the impeachment of a former president and private citizen were “the antithesis of unity.”

“Private citizens don’t get impeached; impeachment is for removal from office. And the accused here has already left office,” Paul said.

“Hyper-partisan Democrats are about to drag our great country down into the gutter of rancor and vitriol the likes of which has never been seen in our nation’s history,” he went on.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who has said Trump “provoked” the riots and indicated he is open to conviction, voted with Paul to move toward dismissing the trial.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, asked if Congress starts holding impeachment trials of former officials, what’s next: “Could we go back and try President Obama?” This uncontititutional impeachemnt can open doors for the impeachment of President Obama for funding al- queda or for obamagate just to mention a few.

Is former President Trump guilty of inciting an insurrection against the United States?”

A few GOP senators have agreed with Democrats, though not close to the number that will be needed to convict Trump.
